HOW PRICING IS SET
Guys looking to wax usually want to know the cost of the service beforehand. But, how is that determined?

First consider that the spa has certain expenses when providing any service, and those include product(s) (like depilatory wax, cloth strips, creams, etc.) and the time spent, not to mention overall operating expenses of the business.

So specifically, when pricing waxing, we must take into consideration the following factors:

___Physical size of the client. A large man, for example presents much more "area" to wax than a small thin man might. So, more product and time is necessary to
do the same service on the large man than on the much smaller guy.
___Type of hair: Is it straight, curly, or kinky? Some hair types present more of a challenge with some services, therefore more time and product might be spent.
___Texture of the hair: Is it course, medium, or fine in texture. The differences may effect the time and product amount necessary to complete the task.
___Sensitivity of the skin: Each man is different in how sensitive he is to being waxed. If the client is more sensitive it may require significantly more time to complete a procedure than on one who is relatively insensitive.
___Allergies and medications: If a client is taking certain medications we might suggest that they not wax at all, as physical reactions might occur. This is usually not the case, but it can be.
___How tough is the hair? This differs per person. Sometimes a guy might have very strong and deeply rooted hair shafts which take more time and effort to remove. Others may have hair shafts which come out easily.
___What color is the hair? This can effect the "texture" of the hair. It also can mean a more difficult time removing it. How? Blondish hair is harder to see on lighter skin and therefore it takes longer to remove stray hairs than if dark hair covered light skin, for example.
___Different skin types: Some skin will require a greater "pampering" due to its more sensitive or delicate nature. That means more time spent. Other guys might have tough skin that is almost invulnerable to irritation.
___Geography: Each body has a different shape to its "terrain." Some areas, depending on where they are on the body and the build of the person, may be more hard to reach.
____Bodily flexibility: When waxing, the client might have to be placed into sometimes odd positions, depending on the area being waxed. Not everyone has the same bodily flexibility. This means the time needed to complete the very same task will take longer on some men and less time on others.
_____Age: As a man ages, his skin becomes thinner. If it is too thin, some areas might not be able to be waxed without pulling the skin off.
_____These are only some of the variables involved in pricing. After consulting with you, the professional doing your work can intelligently estimate the fee based on experience and everything written above. He can then give you a very close estimate of the final fee.

MULTIPLE SERVICE DISCOUNT PRICING

With clients wanting multiple services or needing a large chunk of time booked, we can sometimes offer a quantity discount. Also, returning clients might be offered coupons for discounts.

THE RIGHT WAY TO WAX
There are right and wrong ways to wax. We do it right. ____Care is taken to properly interview the client to discuss the various factors mentioned above.
____The skin is properly cleansed and prepared with preliminary products.
____The wax is properly applied.
____The strips are carefully removed in the right way. Often people break out or have ruptured follicles because at some salon the cosmetician was in a hurry or simply did not know the proper procedure and removed the strips in a way that tore the skin or damaged follicles. There is a right and a wrong way to do it.
____After the hair is removed, the wax is then removed by the application of specially formulated creams which is massaged into the waxed area gently and carefully by the cosmetician.
____Next the skin is calmed by the application of cool moist towels.
____And, finally a gentle astringent is applied to close the pores.
____The client is then instructed how to properly care for skin that has just been waxed and given tips on what to do and not do.
____They can also contact us after the service is completed if any questions arise.
